Missionary Mama loves this Letter!

(This was a letter that made his mama's heart so happy!)

Hey everybody!!

Hey today was a really busy but super fun P-day for us so I have to make this quick because we have to go soon!  We lost Iris and her family because they moved so we'll be sending their info to other missionaries and they'll love it because we invited her to be baptized and she said yes sooo that was awesome!! I've been doing way good with the fact that my last area is going to have 4 very likely baptisms with people I had been working my whole time over there and other new families that the Lord has been putting in our path. (The photo is my last area and some of the boys we were teaching)
Inline image 1
It's been a week full of miracles so I have loved it!:)  Also we've been super blessed with several new people that we found this last week so it's been really good!  Other than that I'm going strong and helping my companion learn Spanish and he's been doing awesome!

Mom you look way beautiful in that photo-- seriously that's way cool!

Also PLEASE TELL TYLER THAT I AM SOOOO EXCITED FOR HIM WHOOOAAA!!!  Italy, Rome Mission???  Ahaha that's seriously sooo crazy!! He's going to love it there! When does he leave?? Do you think I'll be able to see him before I go??

Mom I always pray for you too every night and many times more during the day for many days. I have always felt YOUR prayers and often many times I've imagined your voice trying to comfort me for when times have been most hardest for me while being here. Thank you Ma :)

I have to go because we don't have a whole lot of time but you're the most amazing woman I know Mom. You're the best.  HEY this Sunday we get to talk to you guys!! I'm pretty sure it'll be between 12-3 pm YOUR time but during this week we're going to come in again and send you the more specific times so you'll know :)
Anyway much love ma!  You're the best and I don't know if there's anyone I love more, other than my Savior :)

Talk to you THIS SUNDAY!! :)

Much love to you all! Talk to you soon!!

Elder Chamberlain near the Andes Mountains

Hey fam and friends!

This week was great and we found a couple more new investigators with who we're working with. We invited a young couple to be baptized and they weren't exactly sure so we're going to press them. They're named Daniel and Iris. They both work together harvesting grapes until they go back to Tucuman/northern Argentina again. They do that every year until the harvesting season comes. They live in a VERY humble home in the middle of these massive grape vineyards and the husband Daniel can't read but when we invited them to be baptized after talking about the plan of salvation the husband showed a lot of agreement with doing it but Iris wanted to wait.  It's weird because she searched the church out and wanted to hear us and usually women are more likely to say yes and the husband a little more hardened. But we're going to encourage them.  They're just not sure because they're leaving in less than a month! But there are missionaries up in Tucuman Argentina so we're good!

I got news from my last area and Lucas who I was working with is getting baptized and he was soo emotional when they asked him to be baptized! Also Catriel and his mom were taught the plan of salvation who we worked with a lot and the mom started crying when she found out she'd be able to see her daughter that passed away a while back. A lot of good things happening back there in San Luis too! Mom and Dad you're going to love them when you meet them!:)

We're also helping our branch president's daughter in law with learning English so she can give a presentation to some vineyard owners from Miami and France.  It's kinda cool to talk to them about and learn! The views of the Andes here in Valle de Uco help on the long walks but I haven't been able to see them a whole lot for about 2 weeks or so because it's been constantly cloudy and rainy ahaha. But it's still cool-- I feel  the love of my Heavenly Father everywhere I go as I always have my whole mission! I'm really grateful for it.

Anyway those are some things from this week much love to you all! Trust in the Lord in all you do!!

First Week in Valle de Uco

Leaving San Luis last week.  Bus was one hour late but Marcelo Riveros was there to say goodbye.

Hey fam and friends!

Wow I loveeeddd General Conference! My favorite is Elder Holland as always I just personally feel like I feel and understand him the most out of any other apostle. The love he can express for other people is truly a gift he has and how he talked about we don't need to be scared for tomorrow. Heaven will be cheering us on and will always be cheering us on as we go on day by day for the rest of our lives. I really liked it. We watched all of it in spanish because the english channel wasn't getting picked up but I was fine. I just felt bad because there were several new missionaries who had just gotten here to Argentina and couldn't understand a word. Haha it was hard for them but they'll be ok.

So I'm kinda sad to be honest that I'm not in my last area. It was pretty hard for me to leave San Luis. I'm only sad that I'm not gonna see the progress of the people that we worked with. But I know the next time I'll see them I'll be with you guys!! I'm just happy they're progressing a ton right now!

Well my new area (Valle de Uco) is A LOT of farmland haha and we walk a ton! We have bikes but they're broken and I don't want to fix them. I've heard about bike areas and them always getting broken and stolen and missionaries having to pay a ton for all of that stuff soo we're just gonna keep them in our pench haha!

I've been doing way good just learning and progressing as usual and I'm really trying to do my best to end strong. I'm just trying to imagine that I still have like another 6 months or a year to go so I won't be anxious to go home and see you guys. It's been working so far but every now and then it's weird to think about.

I really don't know a whole lot of members and our investigators but we talked with a lot of people in the streets and had some good conversations! I got to know my branch President and he seems like a good guy. We have about 20-30 people come in this small building with a plaque that has the church name on it. It's cool but small and somewhat dirty I guess but to the point where we can't really clean it if that makes sense. Just in bad condition but that's ok-- it doesn't matter.

Also my new companion has 4 months in the mission and is a really goofy guy haha but he's funny and I already love him as a person. We're gonna have a lot of fun this transfer I can already tell!

Anyway that's all for right now OH! So several of my investigators in my last area are getting baptized that we worked a lot with so that made me happy! They had Lucas go for all 10 hours of the conference sessions it was awesome! Also now Catriel's mom is listening and they both said the Book of Mormon is true because the Mom felt it and Catriel had in his words" A voice told me in my head that it was true and I felt really good!" Catriel is just 11 by the way and is a stud!

Much love to you all I hope you all enjoyed General conference as much as I did! I can't wait to study those talks when they come out! Talk to ya guys soon!!

Love,

Elder Chamberlain

Transfer to Valle de Uco

Hey family and friends,

So this email is going to be very short because I have a lot to do today because I'm leaving tomorrow for another area called Valle de Uco. I'm excited but way nervous and pretty sad too. I'm going to be with a gringo named elder christensen and I haven't heard anything about him and there's also 2 christensens in our mission so I don't know which one will be my new comp.

Other than that this week I've seen some amazing things and some awesome miracles. We have a ton going for us which is awesome and I feel proud that I've been able to help teach and start a lot of future baptisms that will be future missionaries in the church. I feel proud of what I've done and I'm ready to go to my next area and finish my mission there.

I love you all sooo much I hope you all had a great easter weekend and that everyone enjoys General conference!

Love,

Elder Chamberlain

Marcelo Riveros took this photo and sent it to me.  It's my absolute favorite of his entire mission because it sums up what my son has been doing the last two years of his life.  Faithful, diligent, obedient, hardworking young men giving their ALL to serve their Lord.

(letter from Brother Marcelo in Argentina)

Dear sister, today I feel pretty sad. I know our Savior needs E' Chamberlain in other place because there are more souls waiting for him. However my heart is crying inconsolably. Today we had the most powerful and strong spiritual experience. I received a blessing from my brother and best friend. I know he was a tool on the Lord's hands. I felt his love so deeply and my heart started to jump inside my chest. I love your son. He saved me from a fallen state. I testify that We know one each other before our lives here in Earth. I know that my Father in Heavens knows it and that's why I'

not able to deny this. I know I'm going to see him again and I'm going to know you. I promised to my Father and Kohler that I'll be part of Kohler's life forever and I will help him, protect him, I'll be there for consolation and guide. We'll share more laughs and tears. I testify you that just like Ruth 1:16-18 We'll be friends forever and we'll keep on working for our Savior. Please I beg you to sustain and hold him because I know he's as sad as I am. I know he's more strong than he thinks but if there's just a minimal chance for help him or strengthen his heart I'll do it. I made my promise, I'm crying like a baby and we cried together but I wanna tell you that tomorrow I'll give him a blessing because I know that
it will
comfort

E' Chamberlain
during this new challenge. He es the most important missionary, (at least for us he must be) so don't forget your son is a Christ's servant and he was invested with power from on high. You can be proud because he's someone that makes me feel like that.
With love Brother Marcelo

Tender Words from our Missionary Son

Elder Bennett and me with the Contreras Family

Hey Fam and friends,

We went on a wayy cool hike today for pday and I'll send you pics it was wayy cool you could see all of San Luis and La Punta-- it was wayy awesome!

MOOOMMMM!!

I have misseeddddd you sooooo much this week!! YOU are the most amazing woman in my life and I can't begin how to describe how grateful I am for you and everything YOU'VE taught me.

I had a really...interesting week and I learned a lot as always but I've come sooo much closer to my savior and I haven't realized what started that...it was YOU... you as my mom have truly taught me how to love and trust the savior and with that knowledge I could take it out on the mission and continue to grow it. I'm learning more and more how much Father in heaven and our Savior love us. I've got just a slight glimpse bigger (or even smaller I'm sure) but it's changed me even more...I truly trust in the love that our Savior has for all of us and its that love that I'll always trust in to keep me spiritually and physically safe for my whole life.

Mom I love you sooo much you are one of the strongest women I know and have gone through MANY hard things yourself. You're truly an example to me and I hope that whoever is my precious wife someday will be exactly like you because I will love her with all my heart. That was deep ahaha but I do mean it ma. Thank you.

But no seriously this week was one of those weeks where I just really missed my Ma haha.

Dad I had a pretty scary week with the adversary this week. Several things happened but everything turned out ok. I learned a lot and that I can truly trust the lord with everything. It's truly in that love that He has given to all of us that I have learned sooo much on how to trust and to NEVER forget.  Hey my comp Elder Bennet is going home in 2 weeks-- he's ending his mission this transfer haha. I might send something down with him but let me know if you guys want anything!  We get along wayyyy good! We've both learned a lot from each other and we're working super hard for the Lord.

Hey I'm excited about the house and everything! How are you doing?? I've been praying a lot for you this week hoping that everything is going good with you at work. Thank you sooo much for helping mom with her problems when you have your own. You've always been an amazing example to how a husband should be and how to truly give all of yourself to her. Always serving her and loving her and that's what I want to be someday:)

So we had a way good week with some more new people that we're teaching! But the main man Maicol (which by the way is how he spells it so that's why I write it like that and not Michael haha) had something happen. So he was going to get baptized this next week which we were going to have to move back because he's still smoking but he told us he's going to Buenos Aires at the beginning of February for a month. Then he'll come back for a week here in San Luis and go back for a month and do that for we don't know how long...it was kinda sad because he won't be able to progress. BUT were hoping to pass on where he'll be living in Buenos Aires to the mission in what sounds like Buenos Aires North Mission so were hoping they'll be able to continue teaching him up there!

Other than that we found 2 awesome christian evangelicals that are pretty different but one has a more stronger desire to learn but we're helping them learn. They're named Diego and Omar and we gave them some restoration pamphlets to read because we were talking about a lot of random things and then we had to go but we're going to talk about the restoration today with them so we'll see how it will go!

Also this week we've had some other weird and interesting things happen and I've come even more closer to my Savior and I can trust him with everything in my life. I know he will always help me and protect me from what can hurt me physically and more importantly spiritually. I've gained a more stronger testimony of that and of being a representative of my Lord Jesus Christ. Anyway, I wanted to share that with you all.

I love you all soo much! I hope you all have an amazing week!

2016 is off to a great start!

Hey fam and friends and people I loovveee and miss a lot:)

So this week was another amazing week! Maicol came to church and he really liked it! He was understanding everything way good and before he left, he offered us a taxi with him and asked when we'd have the next appt! He was even reading in the gospel principles book about baptism.  It was sooo cool!!

We have had a lot of success and saw several less actives go to church this week for the first time in a long time! I honestly don't know what to choose to write but we're starting a lot of good things with families by just cleaning out the area book which has been helping us a lot and just seeing a lot of miracles!
I LOVE ELDER HOLLAND!! Oh my gosh he is my favorite apostle and I never feel the spirit stronger with any other than him. At least for me, haha!  He's awesome--- what an opportunity! You guys will have a good time. Kelsey and Spencer will too for sure haha!
Mom Hermano Riveros came to church after not coming for like 10 years... He helped teached Maicol why we do things the way we do them. He fellowshipped him-- I guess is what you say in english. it made me soo happy to see him. I've come way close to him and he helps us soo much and I've learned some really deep doctrine things too and just a lot from his experiences that he had while on his mission.
Anyway,  I have to go because we set up an awesome lunch with food from Paraguay because several of the missionaries are from there and so is the hermano! I'm pretty excited-- the food sounded good!

Much love to you all you're all the best!!

December- New Area, Nice Weather

December 7, 2015

Hey Ma!

Wow you have been super busy this week! That makes me happy Im gald youre doing good and busy with a lot of things. Im doing good I want to hear more about how YOURE doing!!

I loved all the pics that you sent me! It looked super official and everything haha! Plus you sold 130 in that one night thats amazing! Its so true sometimes we cant see the hand of the Lord in our lives until after things have passed. Thats why we have to be patient and know the Lord will come through. So in reality jsut faith and patience and well be fine!:)
Thats something Ive learned in the mission a lot just how to have more faith in Him. Once we put our faith in jesus Christ and truly do that well feel his love and well have that sense of security, that sense of Peace that somehow...everything will turn out to be alright...we just need to put our trust in him.

So ya this last week my comp has just been super sick. We went to Mendoza for a couple days and did the tests and this next wednesday were gonna have to go back to get the results to see whats wrong with him. Other than that ya Ive just been in the pench reading, working out, and just doing that while he rests up.

This Thursday were gonna have our zone conference too and im hoping well be back but to be honest I dont think we will. But Im hoping!:)

Oh thank you sooo much Mom for the package I got! I got the big one with the corn nuts and workout bands and stuff. Did kelsey put in the funk socks those are soo cool ahaha im wearing them right now!

Im so glad to hear youre all doing well Ma! I love seeing blessings come into my family:)

New Area, New Allergies, New Friends

Hey Mom and Dad -
What happened to the living room and kitchen!! what happened?!! It's totally different!  But it's ok but woowwwww I've been gone for a little bit havent I...I can't believe it...

Ya it's been another crazy week but let's see...I've never heard such loud thunder and rain in my life...something stung my lip and it got super swollen and I couldn't feel it....I've had super bad allergies here but it's ok now I got a medicine called loratadina and it has the same stuff that claritin has soo I'm really happy. Plus a nice hermana from the states gave me some benadryl and that made me really happy haha.

No, I'm good for christmas.  I don't really need anything.  Thanks though :) So, I'm being rushed by my comp.  He's different but he loves to work so that's good :)

Today we're going to visit a guy in a hospital who is probably going to have his foot amputataed from being in an accident and we're teaching him.  His name is Eddie.  Maybe you guys could pray for him.

Something cool is that there's quite a bit of investigators here and a lot of people that need help soo 'Im glad im here:)  Also we're teaching a family that lived in new jersey for a little while and invited us to thanksgiving...they said it wouldn't be like how it was there but they would try to make the best Argentine Thanksgiving for me ever and that made me really happy haha:) However the mom is super catholic and doesn't really like us in a more religious aspect but it's ok we're building the relationship:)

But ya I've been busy as normal and doing everything I can for these amazing people.

Much love to you mom and dad!  Tell Spencer I'm super super proud of him in tennis.  He is a stud!!!

 I'll talk to ya soon!:)

Love,
E Chamberlain
