Key to Happiness is Being Grateful

Hey Everyone -
This week was fun and we had an awesome ward activity that we made! We had churipanes! Churi is like this sausage which they have here and there's several kinds and it's really good! That and pan (bread). It was a lot of fun and we did the spiritual activity part. We we're going to show a video but technology wasnt really working soo we just explained it all. We did really good I felt! We talked about the Book of Mormon and gave the ward a challenge to give out 10 books of mormon to someone this week! At the end we talked about when Christ asked Peter if he loved him and why he asked him 3 times if he loved him. overall it went really well.

Everything else is really good too! Veronica, Nico, Alonsos, aguileras, andrea y tomas etc everyone is really good and were making good work with them. Thank you for all the prayers they're very much appreciated!

Much love to you all!

Elder Chamberlain

What's up Popz,

I can finally start to see spring coming but while I was working out this morning it just starts to pour rain haha! It's pretty cold down here still but not too bad how it was like a month or 2 ago.

Ya Mom has told me that Spencer's killing it in Tennis!! I cant wait to see him in a tournament someday!
Wow that should be fun and ya pretty interesting to organize a Christmas sacrament meeting! Haven't you made a musical production like that before though? Dad if you want some really cool songs that I love that maybe you could use...they help me feel the spirit soo strong and help me think about the Savior when I need help.

"still,still,still"

"away in a manger"

Those are just 2 that I thought of! You could make some cool arrangements!

Soo is home gonna look really different when I come back? You're getting some new alfombra huh? I haven't seen carpet in a long time!

Dad I've been making more progress with Jesus the Christ and my comp just finished it. He started about a year ago and He's going home to Uruguay in 2 weeks. Elder Barton is going home this transfer too and soo is my good bud from Mexico, Elder Tirado. We're losing a lot of cool missionaries this transfer.
I skipped to the end of the book dad and wanted to read about Christ's second coming and the millenium. I teared up reading some parts --it's really cool.  I'd invite you to read it. It really puts the purpose more in your mind of why were here and what's about to soon happen.

I learned about the difference of the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven. The Kingdom of God is simply the gospel and the kingdom of heaven is the government and law of heaven. The 2 shall reunite when Christ comes back again.
Anyway that was something cool that happened this week. You and mom should read that part.  It's only like 20 pages in total at the very end.

Dad I've been thinking of something that you've always told me--the key to happiness...true happiness. It's being grateful. I'm glad that I have a lot of trials here, that it can be dangerous sometimes, trials with food, my pench, and just the things that Argentina doesn't really have and more. More than anything you guys, I've seen sooo much sadness and just families left torn by the power of satan. I'm grateful to have been able to see the things I've seen and help all of the people that we've helped. It's made me GRATEFUL.
Thank you for teaching me that dad. I love ya and miss ya way too much haha.

MA!

Hey I heard you called the offices haha I hope everything goes ok with the package! Ohh that's awesome! I love those little photo books that you've sent me!

Spencer is such a studdd!! Haha I can't wait to actually see a game! It'll be when he's in Highschool too so he'll be that much better!

Mom every week I keep feeling the spirit stronger and stronger it's been pretty cool. Like dad always said the key to happiness is gratitude and it couldn't be more true. I talked to kelsey a lot about that in her letter. Through all of the things that I've seen, people I've met, and learned here I will never forget how I felt and how they shaped me into who I am. I'm just really grateful how the Lord has kept me safe both physically and spiritually. It'd be really cool to show you it all...

Kelsey is soo beautiful. Plzz tell her that she has a marrying limit of 1 year in college AT LEAST! I don't want her to see the first good looking rm and get taken like that haha. But I'll be there to make sure that doesn't happen too...finally haha!

I love ya tonz mom --thanks about the card. I've been fine! Dont worry!!:)

Opportunity vs. Obligation

Hey Dad -

Wow-- it looks like you guys had a lot of fun this week doing the Easter Pageant. That's awesome.
That's soo funny about the sheep and I heard it peed on mom? Ahaha that would've been funny to see!

This week was good. We have been doing a lot of knocking on doors and trying to get in with references with a member and none answered so we just went around for a couple hours trying to talk to people.
We met some actually nice people so we're hoping this week we can find and work with them. But other than that it was kinda a rough week with some other things too but it's all good now.

Ya so tell me about the biz?? Tell me about your quarter goals and why you think youre doing so well so you can do this every quarter!

That's cool Grandma Chamberlain is there.  I miss Grandma so much. Let her know I don't wear her bracelet cuz really it's a rule that we don't and cuz I'm actually afraid if someone robbed me and I lost it that way. But I keep it in our study room on my desk next to this stand up picture of Christ and it'll always help me remember why I'm here. Hope she's doing well.

That's soo cool for Chip getting his mission call to Santiago, Chile!  It's actually about a 6 hour drive away but that's just through the Andes so ya I'm literally just on the other side haha. The south mission, huh?...I actually think there's a girl named Hermana Martinez that's serving there from my last area. I can't remember for sure tho...she left like in Novemberish? Anyway that's super cool tho!

Ya I've been reading a lot and I love Jesus the Christ. Talmage talks a lot about the things that weren't really brought up and he goes into a lot of super specif details that would've had to have happened from certain things that happened in his life. He gets info too from so many people who have studied Christ's life and have come to like these conclusions on what He's done and what not. I'm in the 200's right now and I'm loving it.

Something I'm trying to do to help our companionship right now is bring more enthusiasm for the work. Something I've learned is when we're not giving our absolute best we need to be thinking about what we're thinking. Mainly because if we're not giving our best we're probably thinking about the obligation more than the opportunity.  Each day on my mission is not an obligation, it's an OPPORTUNITY to change someone else's life and mine.  So I'm trying to tell myself everyday I'm going to work as hard as I can today but only today, so that I don't think about what I'll have to do tomorrow or in the future for the next 15 months.  Then, the next day I say the same thing, haha!

We're also inviting a lot of people to general conference and a lot of women and our recent convert family went to the women's conference and they loved it. To be honest I'm soo excited for General Conference!

Love and miss ya tons Pops. Take care this week.

"Pedal to the Metal" says Elder C.

Hey Pops,

Ya they loved the baptism! Karina(the mom) cried during her testimony in front of her family and her husband and that was really cool. It's cool when you get to experience convert baptisms. I really like that because the commitment they're giving is soo much more I feel. But still both very cool as you know.

I'm reading a lot of Jesus the Christ and some of it I don't understand but it goes a lot into detail about how things actually happened and more so on the things they don't talk about. Like brothers of Jesus, things about being born into the lineage of David, A LOT of things I actually didn't know. Everyday I try to read one of those bullet points in the how to win friends and influence people too and that has helped a lot. The reason why I wanted that book is because I could grow soo much with people that don't really care what they say to you. My comp is 1000x times better than the previous guy and is super fun but can be pretty arrogant and only focused on himself. But I don't care because I sincerely want to take every opportunity to grow that God gives me.

I've read all the other books that you guys gave me but I read them over and over again haha. That little blue missionary handbook has such helpful references! Whenever we'd get into arguments with evangelists or JW´s in their homes or on the streets a couple times it helps me a lot! It also talks about some cool legends in central america about a white God that came there, there are 1000´s of temples too with paintings of white and black men fighting each other( the lamanites and nephites) and people tell how they're related to the nation that destroyed the white people. Also a legend about a man named Hueman who would compile many ancient records in their time( Mormon) A lot of really cool evidences about the Book Of Mormon that I use in talks, testimony, lessons and stuff!

Love you tons dad! I'm killin' it out here and I won't stop. Pedal to the metal babe!!

Mom,

I love your screen saver:) They were an awesome family:)

I'm soo excited for your book mom! It's going to do really well!

This week was good but just a normal week so nothing really happened.

I'm soo glad you and the fam are doing good! I heard Braden Braithwaite and his comp are struggling. His companion's father and brother died and he's been out in the field for like almost 2 and a half months...It made me think of dad's truck accident a couple weeks ago and I'm so grateful that I got to keep my father and brother. Unfortunately, he didn't . . . and I don't know why things like that happen. If you could pray for Braden's comp or tell Kelsey to write him? That would be super cool . I don't know his name. He's a latino from Mexico or somewhere.

Oh we actually have a mom and 2 sons along with a little less active girl who we're planning on baptizing on March 7th!  We'll see how it all falls together!

I love ya tonz Honey Bunzz haha! I'll talk to ya soon!

Sorry this is a little short!  We're going bowling today and gonna get some good food!! I heard there's a place with some wings!? I doubt it's true but we'll see!

I love ya ma!

2015 First Letter

Mom-- I'M sooo happy I got to talk to you guys! I'm glad you like my video too haha! I wasn't sure exactly what to say but it's just what came to my head haha.

That's cool that Amber and them are doing good and having fun! I'm glad Amber has a boyfriend.

I didn't know the book Jesus the Christ was written in the temple? I should read it! I will totally read it with you! Let's just make it a habit to read like at least 2 pages a day. Something small and simple. I always do that for everything so I can create consistency because I've learned more than ever if you want something, it doesn't matter literally how much of it you do really, you NEED to be consistent. Let's do it!

I'm glad Grandpa is feeling better! I had fasted for the longest time ever yesterday and put grandpa along with many other people and things in my prayers.

We were going to have 9 people go to church with us from 3 different houses that we had to walk to. All very far apart. NONE of them came...yeeeeaaaaa!!  Haha its all good tho. We'll for sure get them next week! We just have to push 3 baptism dates from the 17th of january to the 24th now.

Tell Spencer that's exactly how it is. He just has to do it. Nobody likes it but when you do it you're beating all of the people that aren't doing that so you're above the crowd and more unique! He'll become successful that way I know it. I'm soo proud of that guy.

Mom actually could you tell Spencer to write me? I'll just tell you sometimes at night or after studying for a little bit my mind will receive ideas for the future I want to create. I'm very focused on missionary work but it's more of a little hobby I have on the mission in my free time haha! I feel as if they're blessings from working hard and these ideas I have just make a  lot of sense. I like them a lot and I have a lot of faith in them. I'm soo soo grateful for the confidence and faith I actually have and I know they're blessings from my Heavenly Father. I know I will achieve the success I want here in the mission and for my future. I Just know I will, I can literally feel it.

I need to try and send pictures but I haven't here yet in this ciber! I'm just always busy writing but maybe some weeks I'll write a lot less and just send pictures. Tell me what you guys want!:)

Te amo muchissimo ma, Espero que tengas un buena semana!  Chao!( People say chao all the time but it's an Italian thing soo it would make sense haha)
